Thoughts on Women - Making Decisions
You know what I’ve found? Women like you to make decisions. Take Rupa for example, every time we go out, whether it’s to watch a film, wine and dine, or anything else, I always end up asking her…
“What do YOU want to watch?” or “What do YOU want to eat?” All the time, she’d reply that why does she have to decide, and that she doesn’t mind and that I should decide. But I’d persist in doing what she wants to do. (I’m sitting here laughing, surprised at this is how I really used to be just two years ago)
What she really wants is for someone to take a decision, and to decide fast. Whether its her or me doesn’t matter, the underlying thing is we’ve both got to agree. So we take turns in deciding. It’s more fun that way. And it teaches you a lot about the kind of person she is.
When I was questioning all of this to myself, I realised the psychology behind it all. The underlying, subconscious thing is that if you are always asking “What do you think?” and “Where do you want to go?”, you’ll be seen as needy.
What’s worked for me is to just make decisions and go with it, and if Rupa has a different idea, she’ll let me know. Its a great transferrable skill to have as it works well in business, relationships, money-related stuff, family, etc.
No commentsBar Hypnosis
Imagine if there was a place called Bar Hypnosis. Every time you visit, you’d get hypnotized before you enter the bar. I’m sure this would make the whole place (even if it’s run down) look much better and the food and drink would be incredibly tasty too!)
Of course, with the power of hypnosis done on you, you could ask for a Tequila shot and the waitress will give you a shot of sprite, and you wouldn’t tell the difference and you’d still get drunk! Saves the bar a lot of money and keeps you off the booze, right?
And you could dance the night away with anyone you wanted - if they are there or not! Now, that’d solve a lot of people’s problems, don’t you think? Even if it was just a friend you’re madly in love with and can’t be with or a celebrity you wanted to boogie with? If you want Britney Spears next to you, or under your table, she’s yours.
What would the bar put in the hypnotic language? “Eat well, drink well, have fun dancing, you are with whoever you want to be, be safe and next time you go out, make sure it’s Bar Hypnosis you visit!”
What a great problem-solver!
No commentsBig Rocks
I attended the Young Jains Big Rocks session yesterday. It was a great planning session for the organisation, and I was glad to be a part of it.
More importantly, I really liked the analogy used behind the event, and behind the way the whole organisation works and how it relates back to one’s life.
Imagine your life as a big jar. Is it better to fill the jar with big rocks or small pebbles first? Of course, the answer is to fill it with big rocks first.
The idea is that the big rocks are the most important stones in your life. For example, in my life I can find four big rocks. Music, Relationships, Business and Spirituality (in no particular order).
Once the big rocks are filled, then only do you begin filling the jar (or your life) with other smaller pebbles, small things that are not as important as the big things but help form and gel your life together. Then you can of course add the much smaller things (the sand and the water) to fill your life (the jar).
Stop for a moment and just think about the big rocks in your life. It’s important you remember to think about the big rocks first, before going onto the small pebbles. Why? Because if you start with the pebbles, sand and water, you’ll never fit the big rocks in.
No commentsThoughts on Women - Control
I wrote a little bit about control yesterday. And I’ve just read a recent post from Sawan’s blog that has got me to write a few more words.
Sawan’s post is a great example as to what women like and don’t like. Yes, they like to see a man in control with himself, his emotions and his surroundings, but what they don’t like is somebody overpossessive and in too much control. When you get too clingy, too overprotective, your insecure side begins to show. Strike a fine balance.
Remember, what you dislike in others is a mirror of what you dislike in yourself. Sawan, thanks for waking me up to this.
No commentsThoughts on Women
I’m writing here based on what I’ve picked up SO FAR in my relationship with Rupa. These are just some thoughts to ponder over, see what you think of them, and if you like them, maybe you can use them with your success with women.
The best way to gain confidence, I’ve learned, when speaking with women is to answer these questions:
- How would I walk if I believed that I could make any woman feel great inside?
- How would I talk if I believed that I could make any woman feel great inside?
- What would the expression be on my face if I believed that I could make any woman feel great inside?
Then I’d simply act this way, and she’d love it.
But when it comes to understanding what women are looking for, it’s a tricky one! After 30 years of studying people, Freud said that there was one question that he didn’t have the answer to… “What do women want?”
My take on the answer to this question is that they want somebody who’s in control with himself, the people around him and his surroundings. I guess looking needy and insecure gives away the wrong impression. Most men think that ass-licking is great! Going up to the lady, giving her what she wants, etc but surprisingly this isn’t what women want! Everyone has done this from time to time. I remember I used to at the start of our relationship, and she’d say to me that I should be stronger! (hint, hint!) You’ve got keep them hanging on, whilst you being in control.
Something else I’ve picked up on with Rupa is that the size of gift I give her would warrant a similar kind of thanks. If I gave her a card, or I gave her a necklace, the thanks would be the same. (The necklace is more used, so more happy moments come).
For women, gifts are a symbol. What matters most to them is the thoughtfulness behind it. They feel the same kind of good if you give them a card or a ring. I haven’t done this before because I haven’t found the need, but if you were to tell your partner that you didn’t like it that she was out with another man (based on the context), I’m sure she’d appreciate your honesty and subconsciously note that you were thinking of her. (But there’s always the issue of overprotectiveness that could arise…)
My final thought here is based on what attracts women to men. For Rupa, (or at least the way I note it), the attraction factor is the way she FEELS. I make her feel great. If I didn’t we wouldn’t be together. The one quality that attracts women the most and keeps them attracted is how great you make them feel. It doesn’t mean having power, fame, control, wealth (I’m sure they’d help), but it’s your natural way of being that’s most important. Your personality is a powerful weapon.

No commentsInspired or Frantic Action
“Imagination is more important than knowledge” - Einstein
Imagination is the creative juice that stems from within us. It is the real essence of who we want to be. It stems from our intuition. It is important that when we write, sing, dance, pray, we feel what energy and physical sensations we are sending out so we can connect to our imagination.
When you act from imagination, you are taking “inspired action”
Frantic action is doing something hastily, without really feeling through it and understanding with true essence what you are putting out. So what’s the difference between the two?
For me, the difference is between faith and fear. When you have faith, trust, belief in what you do, you allow yourself the space to connect with the pure energy coming through and take inspired action. When you work from a place of fear, scarcity and rush, you take frantic action, sending out the wrong kind of energy.
Here’s an age-old story that illustrates the message:
One day, a student goes to see his teacher and says, “I’m having an inner battle between my faith and my fear. My faith is represented by a white dog and my fear, a black dog. They are battling and I don’t know what to do and which is going to win.” The teacher responds , “The white dog, of course.” The student asks, “How do you know?” The teacher responds, “Because that’s the one you’re going to feed.”
Now, its up to you to find imaginative ways to feed your white dog.

80% of new businesses fail in the first five years. That’s the statistic and it’s shocking! Why does this happen? Because they spend months thinking, plotting, planning, researching, questioning, worrying and deciding before taking action.
Yes, all of that is good. It’s important to plan and it’s equally important to get finance if you need it, but you’ve got to take action right away. The most life-changing statement I have ever received from one of my mentor’s is this: “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going.” Also check out my previous note on N.O.W.
This is what got me started in my business, Inner Rhythm, as an entrepreneur at the age of and 17 and very successful just three years down the road.
So, to all want-to-be entrepreneurs, take action fast! No more excuses. And follow Seth Godin’s advice on the best time to start here.
No commentsInstructions for when I am dead
I’ve had this thought for a while, but since my blog is a great medium for sharing any and everything I thought I’d write this…
I am not having any thoughts or “insights” that I am going to leave at any point soon, and I certaintly wouldn’t like to, but the fact that when I am no longer here in this form and nobody extremely close to me knows how to tap into my databases and inform my large lists of prospects, customers, clients and other friends is daunting.
So I’m going to schedule some time to allow my fingers to tap away into an MS Word document soon and type out instructions of how to get into important things in my life, business, music and other stuff so that if anyone needs urgent - urgent - access to it, they know where to go.
I don’t intend to talk about this document or inform anyone through speech. Those who will read this blog post will know.
What do you think about this idea? Am I being arrogant or am I just being organised? Your thoughts please.
