Wine Tasting - A Recent Passion
Wine tasting (and drinking it) has over the last few months become a real hobby of mine.
I’ve been consciously improving my wine tasting skills, note-taking its colours, smells, strengths, tastes and giving them scores. I’m slowly growing my detailed spreadsheet of wines. I’m also collecting wines. Maybe one day in the near future, I’ll set up my own cellar.
I’m contemplating setting up a new and specific wine blog/website where I can regularly write my thoughts about specific wines. I don’t want to duplicate content already out there as there are lots of great wine sites that I couldn’t do as well as. And I’m also a whole lot younger than many of the wine writers out there.
What do you think I should do on this? I’m really excited about your answer, either way.
There is a skill and art to wine tasting. If you don’t know how to or would like to learn, here’s a really good guide to learning how:-

And what are your favourite wines that you think I should go out and try?
No commentsWhat’s on my 2007 Christmas Wish List?
As we get closer to the festive period of Diwali (9th Nov 07) and Christmas, sales have already begun. Here’s the wish list I made last time on my old blog. I got four out of five things as gifts from others.
It’s important to note that wish list items don’t always come as gifts from others, they could be things that you intend and pop up at the right time for you to get yourself. With that in mind, here’s my wish list for the festive periods this year:-
- Nigeria football home shirt
- Someone to play regular tennis with!
- A new pair of black shoes matched to my taste
- A collection of Dave Koz albums
- The over-hyped Apple iPhone
- A return ticket to Rwanda
- The opportunity to hit a few balls with Andy Murray
Of course, there’s also my Amazon wishlist.
It’s a good idea to create a wishlist. It helps set an intention.
What’s on your wish list?
No commentsLinks to some great sites
I haven’t posted for a few days. Things in the lab are quite busy to say the least. As well as some of the projects I’m working on to launch in 2008. In the meantime, here are some sites I’ve checked recently which I think you’ll love:-
- Genetree - launched today 23rd October, this company has created a family networking site and through the power of genetics, you can link up with relatives you never knew you had. It’s free to join.
- Zap Your Phone - I’m helping Arvind with the promotion for this. It’s a great cause I believe in to get people to stop using their phones whilst driving and thus save lives. Get yourself a sticker for your car.
- Avoid Boring People - I just ordered the new book by James D Watson. If you don’t know, where have you been?! He co-discovered DNA with Francis Crick in Cambridge back in the 1950’s. I’ll tell you what I think of it soon.
- Living Jain - I’ve been subscribed to this free daily quote service for quite a while now. The last few days, the quotes have been awesome. You should give it a try.
- Cameron Johnson - check out the guy who started his first company at the age of 9. He’s definitely a role model for many young entrepreneurs.
That’s all for now!
No commentsA fatal case of being ‘out-of-touch-with-the-world’
It’s funny. Blogging is such a big thing, yet many people don’t know what it is. All my friends, those who do and don’t have a blog know what it is. So does all the big newspaper and magazine websites. But for some reason, one important figure I spoke to today didn’t…
ME: Did you know that I have a blog?
DR J: Oh no, I’m really sorry, I hope it’s not bad.
Blogs are so big today - they’re even making headlines and political candidates such as Barack Obama are using them with big influence. Yet some people don’t even know about it.
Perhaps another fatal case of ‘out-of-touch-with-the-world’.
No commentsFireflies: attraction power
One of the coolest creatures on Earth today are fireflies. Have you ever seen one? Unfortunately, we don’t get them in the UK. If you’re out in the night, you may be able to see little things flying around with a shiny end like in the image here.
The yellow end part of the firefly is called the lantern, and they have a flickering ability as well as the ability to turn on and off and is used as the male’s attracting power to call over the females.
How cool is that?
All fireflies have nearly the same frequency for their flashing, but their phase is shifted. If a firefly receives a flash of a neighbour firefly, it flashes slightly earlier.
Not only does the flickering work as an attractor, it is also really important as to what rate and at what frequency the flickering occurs.
Here is a photo of a plant in the night sky with fireflies in the picture.

The new design for my blog is now live!
Well, here we are. I’ve been writing for over a year at my old blog. I’ve still kept it up for anyone who bumps into it as it had a lot of comments and therefore good enough popularity. We moved it over to the new self-hosted space just over a month ago, and I’ve got myself a unique design on the new blog. All the posts from the old blog are transferred here too.
Welcome. Namaste. Willkommen and Aloha.
For those new to my blog, take a few moments to browse the archives and get started by reading about me. It’s always important to know who’s behind the words. Also subscribe with your email address or save the blog in your RSS feeds on the right.
Blogging is an art I’m really enjoying. It’s my place to write about all the things I’ve experienced and what I’m learning, and as a result, I hope you’ll benefit from it too. I trust that each day the quality of my writing will continue to improve and I set forth the intention that my writing will get you thinking in some form or another.
Are you creating the blended lifestyle?
No commentsWhere To Look For Wealth
My belief is that most of us are looking for wealth in the wrong place. The greatest wealth anyone can have is HEALTH. All that we crave and spend hundreds and thousands searching for - money, homes, stocks, yachts, clothing and all other kinds of luxury shouldn’t be the first place we look. The first place we should start to look is our health. My belief is that if we can get our health to be optimum, it’ll become easier to focus on building wealth.
The majority of the population in US and UK have cancer. And diabetes is also spreading extremely fast too. I also believe that because we focus on building wealth as money and other material cravings, such illnesses appear from ill eating habits in the form of herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, and chemical fertilizers. There is also a massive lack of exercise within communities and a mixture of lack of sleep and bad habits.
Mark Anastasi in his ebook says that our health care system is in fact a disease-care system because of how it’s controlled by the pharmaceutical industry. (Check out his book on Diabetes here).
My solution to building enormous wealth (or at least the strategy I’m following) is to deal with and fix what’s hurting and broken inside my body so it doesn’t lead to fast death internally or externally. And then I’m following my passion, doing and living what I love and ensuring I laugh and play. Enormous wealth can only follow in that process.
No commentsNew Blogs I Like
Thanks to Ross and Callum, the brothers behind Energise for Life for adding me to their “New Blogs I Like” list. In the same spirit, I thought I’d list five blogs I strive to check out on a more-than-regular basis. These blogs provide me with (1) regular content, (2) a stimulating read and (3) a new learning each time. When I mean “new blogs” I don’t mean they have necessarily been writing from very recently, they are “new” for me as I have just discovered them in the wonderful blogosphere.
- Arvind Devalia - my good friend Arvind has just started blogging this year and has made me accountable in that if he doesn’t write a hundred blog posts by 31st January, he’ll be sending me a cheque for £1000 for any charity of my choice. As of writing this, he has 62 more to go.
- Traveling Forever Blog - a great blog, sharing many “how-to’s” that are much different to Steve Pavlina’s and are a great insight for someone who travels a lot still being able to change the world, one journey at a time.
- Phil Gerbyshak - not only does the master of “Making It Great” write some quality content, he regularly puts out links to some great stuff happening on the internet. This is the one place where I go check out his link love. It’s a great buzz marketing tactic too.
- Ravi Raman writes Setting Higher Standards; a great blog about health, fitness, personal development and growth.
- Problogger by the great Darren Rowse is a blogger’s dream. Darren is a full-time blogger and writes a number of blogs, Problogger being his most prized (or at least I think so). It is the best place to learn everything blogging and I’ve learnt more than I would ever have from Darren than reading books. Thanks DR!
If you have a blog, why not post about five blogs you’ve recently been attracted too? This is a great buzz marketing tactic in action. I wonder what kind of revolution we can write with this. You’re tagged!
No commentsSol’s Acrostic Poem
Sol’s running a great campaign to turn 1 penny into 10 million pounds in just 30 transactions. ou can ask Sol to do something for you and in exchange you double his last transaction for him. So when Sol was at 32p, I asked him to write an acrostic poem on my name about something that’s meaningful to him. And so he did.
Here’s Sol’s acrostic poem for Kavit:
- Keeping
- All
- Victories and Vices
- In
- Tune
Thanks Sol!
No commentsBar Hypnosis
Imagine if there was a place called Bar Hypnosis. Every time you visit, you’d get hypnotized before you enter the bar. I’m sure this would make the whole place (even if it’s run down) look much better and the food and drink would be incredibly tasty too!)
Of course, with the power of hypnosis done on you, you could ask for a Tequila shot and the waitress will give you a shot of sprite, and you wouldn’t tell the difference and you’d still get drunk! Saves the bar a lot of money and keeps you off the booze, right?
And you could dance the night away with anyone you wanted - if they are there or not! Now, that’d solve a lot of people’s problems, don’t you think? Even if it was just a friend you’re madly in love with and can’t be with or a celebrity you wanted to boogie with? If you want Britney Spears next to you, or under your table, she’s yours.
What would the bar put in the hypnotic language? “Eat well, drink well, have fun dancing, you are with whoever you want to be, be safe and next time you go out, make sure it’s Bar Hypnosis you visit!”
What a great problem-solver!
